Community Programs

ACHEA's community programs create recurring places to gather around culture. Since 2024, ACHEA has hosted free community tea circles at the Calabazas Branch of the San José Public Library, where residents of different ages and backgrounds learn, share and connect around the same table, with calligraphy and seasonal traditions woven in throughout the year.

Calabazas Community Tea Circles

A Table Where Neighbors Meet

Each gathering welcomes about 20 residents, often families together.

Participants brew tea in a gaiwan and practice calligraphy.

Many return, bring friends and help shape future themes.

Seasonal traditions keep the same circle evolving through the year.
